Carlisle Primary School caters for 315 students from Kindergarten to year 7. There is a strong visual arts, music and drama emphasis. The learning programme in general is structured to enhance the understanding and appreciation of different cultural groups, with a targeted ESL initiative and an Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer who advises and assists in planning and implementing culturally appropriate activities.   .
