Tambellup Primary is a rural school kindergarten through to Year 7 with students attending aged 4-12 years of age. The total student enrolment is 110. The student population comes from farming and town backgrounds and the school has a significant population of 37% Indigenous children.The area in and around Tambellup forms part of what was once traditional Noongar country. One initiative 'A Smart Start'is linked to outside agencies such as Local Government Shires and Allied Health and provides parent information and workshops based on the early years of childhood 0-4 years. Another program developed by the school involves a Noongar Playgroup which is located in the school onsite kindergarten each Friday morning and is designed to help Noongar parents to become comfortable and familiar with the school environment.
