BER funding can be used for kitchens
Deputy Prime Minister and Minster for Education, Julia Gillard last year confirmed that Building the Education Revolution (BER) funded buildings can include kitchens.
In a letter to Stephanie Alexander, Minister Gillard's office stated: It is possible for a multi purpose hall or classroom being funded under the P21 element to be fitted out with a teaching kitchen facility.
This is good news to existing Kitchen Garden Schools who are in the process of building Kitchen Garden Program facilities, as well as those schools who are keen to implement the Program in future.
