Partners join us to see how our kitchen garden has flourished

Foundation staff and Board members, along with students and volunteers from the Kitchen Garden Program at Collingwood College, recently hosted our Partner Recognition Event for 2011.

This was a very special evening for the Foundation, as it allowed us to celebrate the important role our Partners have played in our success in the past year, and thank each of them personally for their critical support. The night also provided a fabulous opportunity for our Partners to experience the look and feel of our new, dynamic Kitchen Garden Learning Centre first hand.

Guests were treated to wonderful wine from our event supporter TarraWarra Estate and were able to sample some of the Program's delicious creations while hearing stories from our talented and enthusiastic students.

Congratulations and thank you for the wonderful evening last night. A friend asked me how it went and I simply said ‘enchanting'. The school is amazing, the garden is gorgeous, the kitchen sensational and the team of people brilliant. How many more superlatives can I squeeze into a sentence?! Oh, the food! The food was divine - the best I think I've ever had at a function. Not a frozen spring roll in sight - the kids rock!

I especially loved the involvement of the children and the volunteers and hearing what they had to say about their involvement in the Program.

I hope you and the rest of the Foundation team are totally loving yourselves today and grinning from ear to ear. You deserve to be for all the work you do - not only last night, but every day. You are making a massive difference to Australia - far beyond the children in the schools you work with. I am so proud to be a part of this movement and that Living Fundraisers is supporting your work. It makes me want to work even harder so we can support the Foundation even more.
