Newman's Own Foundation donates $100,000 to Kitchen Garden Program

The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation is delighted announce it has just received a $100,000 grant from the Newman's Own Foundation!

The popular TV chef, author and Foundation Ambassador Ian Parmenter nominated the Foundation to receive this grant as part of the Paul Newman's Own 10 Chefs $1 Million Charity Campaign.

The funds received will support our Kitchen Garden Specialist Mentoring Project in Western Australia.

Paul Newman was committed to helping make the world a better place. To carry on his philanthropic legacy, Newman's Own Foundation turns all net profits and royalties from the sale of Newman's Own products into charitable donations. To date, Paul Newman and Newman's Own Foundation have given over $300 million to thousands of charities around the world.

This incredible contribution to our work will help provide mentoring and support for the Kitchen and Garden Specialists who deliver the Kitchen Garden Program in 24 Western Australian schools.

‘Paul Newman was passionate about the importance of better nutrition, especially for children,' said Parmenter. ‘The more children learn about where their food comes from and how to prepare it, the better they will eat, which is why I'm so keen to see the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program in primary schools throughout Australia.'

‘We are thrilled to receive this support from Newman's Own Foundation,' said Stephanie. ‘The Kitchen Garden Specialist Mentoring Project in Western Australia will enable strategic peer-to-peer mentoring opportunities and facilitate the transfer of valuable knowledge, skills and experiences from advanced Kitchen and Garden Specialists to other Specialists currently delivering the Program.'

Thank you to Ian for your ongoing support of the Kitchen Garden Program and a huge thank you to Newman's Own Foundation for your wonderful generosity.
