The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation is excited to announce a new Foundation Principal Partner, The GPT Group (GPT), one of Australia's leading property groups and the world leader in sustainability for the real-estate sector.*

This dynamic, long-term partnership features significant financial and resource support to help the Foundation to achieve its mission and vision.

The partnership was launched on October 25 2010, at GPT's Melbourne Central shopping centre, with the centre transformed into a giant living kitchen garden.

The kitchen garden was a feast for the senses with an abundance of colourful vegetables, seasonal fruits, herbs, scarecrows and bales of hay decorating the space below the iconic Shot Tower, within the heart of Melbourne Central.

Students from the Kitchen Garden Program at Collingwood College joined Stephanie Alexander in demonstrating the Foundation's pleasurable food education philosophy of growing, harvesting, preparing and sharing delicious seasonal produce.

The invited guests, members of the public and assembled media were delighted to experience the work of the Foundation and enjoyed tasty treats created by the students.

"The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program in primary schools across Australia is aiming to positively influence children's lives. I hope that through this partnership we can spread the message of pleasurable food education further into the community and into the homes of people visiting GPT centres," said Stephanie.

The GPT Group is thrilled to partner with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation.

"The launch at Melbourne Central was a huge success. The partnership between The GPT Group and Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation was born out of a mutual desire to enrich people's lives and help educate children's food choices. It's an incredibly valuable proposition that will spread the message of pleasurable food education wider and help positively influence the lives of the families and kids that visit our centres each week," said Michelle Tierney, GPT Head of Retail Property and Asset Management.

We welcome GPT to the kitchen garden community and extend a big thank you for their significant investment in our work!
