Eastbourne’s feast from the garden
20-09-2011

The Eastbourne Primary School kitchen garden team have just finished producing their entry for Country Style magazine's Harvest Table competition. Here's how they did it ...

Here is our ‘Year in the garden' shot from Eastbourne Primary School.

With an overflowing abundance of organic produce to choose from, a wonderful selection of colour and flavour sensations await our culinary delights each week.

Jen Ruch (Garden Specialist) grows, nurtures and harvests the produce forming part of her weekly garden classes. This includes the freshest assortment of vegetables, fruits, varieties of herbs and edible flowers.

Marlene Hoff (Kitchen Specialist) creates the recipes around the week's available seasonal produce and finds overwhelming pleasure watching her kitchen class students prepare and enjoy the fruits of their labours.

Our ‘Harvest Table' photo was created using Jen Ruch's harvest from the school garden, which forms the majority of vegetables, herbs and edible flowers displayed. The shots were styled by Marlene Hoff and Grant Campain, with some fabulous photography by Grant Campain.

On the day of the photo shoot our wonderful Maintenance man Ron White was also there to add his encouragement and nod of approval to the wonderful table created.

Thanks for sharing your story Eastbourne PS - and good luck with your entry!

Entries for the Country Style Harvest Table competition are open to all Australian Primary schools and close 3 October. Click here for more information.
