Forbes North Public School wins Green Award

Garden to Table’s fabulous new facility and gala dinner
20-08-2012More New Zealand primary school students will soon be growing, harvesting, preparing and sharing fresh seasonal produce! Our friends across the Tasman, the Garden to Table Trust, have recently turned the first sod on a new kitchen and garden site in the Wynyard Quarter in inner-city Auckland.

Our most remote Kitchen Garden School: Rawa CS
10-08-2012Over the last ten years the number of Kitchen Garden Program schools has continued to grow and we now see the Program being delivered in a huge variety of school settings. There are many schools with large populations of Aboriginal students, and some schools in isolated areas, but Rawa Community School at Punmu in north-west Western Australia stands out as the most remote Kitchen Garden School.

The Kitchen Garden Program expands!
01-08-2012We’re thrilled to share some wonderful news! The Australian Government today announced a new $5.4 million funding commitment to support the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program over the next three years and provide opportunity for 400 new schools to join the Program. The Minister for Health, the Hon. Tanya Plibersek, joined Stephanie Alexander at Meadows Primary School to make the announcement along with special guests including the Foundation CEO Ange Barry, Medibank Managing Director George Savvides, Frank McGuire MP and Ms Maria Vamvakinou MP, and Meadows PS Principal Julie Cooke.
