Feeding minds, bodies and futures

Children around the country are getting their hands dirty and learning how to grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh, seasonal food.

The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program began in 2001, and has since steadily and successfully been rolled out in 266 primary schools across all states and territories of Australia.

Kitchen Garden Schools flourish in all types of communities, climates and settings. Each school brings the wide-ranging benefits of pleasurable food education to its students and surrounding families. Each builds invaluable knowledge and understanding of food and of the integral role it plays in our physical and social wellbeing. Each plants the seeds for a lifetime of positive eating habits and enjoyment of food.

We want to bring good food into the curriculum and culture of every school; to feed the minds, bodies and futures of each and every student.
