At Cairns West State School our school community is made up of diverse multicultural backgrounds, many of our 520 students being from non-English Speaking backgrounds, the approximate distribution being: Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal students 70%, Cook Islanders 15%, Bhutanese and North African 7% and Caucasian 8%.
