Kitchen Garden Week School Activities
As part of Kitchen Garden Week, a full program of celebratory events took place in many of the twenty-seven primary schools across Victoria that house productive and extensive gardens alongside beautiful kitchens. From twilight suppers featuring vegetable soup prepared by the children using ingredients from their garden, candlelit garden tours and wood-fired pizza, to best-dressed scarecrow competitions – hundreds of visitors saw how the food-lovers of tomorrow are learning to love new flavours and textures.
The Foundation would like to extend a huge thank you to all the schools who welcomed the community and shared their knowledge and passion. We are looking forward to celebrating Kitchen Garden Week with all the current and new schools who will be enjoying the Program in 2009.
