What’s the difference between SAKG Program Schools and SAKGF Subscribers?

To date, the Kitchen Garden Program has been made available to public schools with a primary enrolment through Victorian State and Australian Government funding. SAKG Program Schools have completed an extensive application process and been awarded funding to assist with infrastructure and implementation. SAKG Program Schools have a structure and plan in place to embed the Program into their school and the school curriculum. They receive ongoing support from the SAKGF team to ensure the Program is effectively rolled out to the whole school community. They also receive various discounts from SAKGF Partners to assist with the running of the Program. These schools are officially branded as SAKG Program schools.

Schools interested in implementing the full SAKG Program can read more about the National Program Grants process here.

The Foundation realises that many committed educators and organisations are not eligible for funding under the above model. The Subscription Program responds to overwhelming interest from Australia and beyond and allows all interested organisations and individuals to create their own program. The SAKGF Subscription Program allows you to participate in the pleasurable food education revolution without becoming a fully-fledged SAKG Program School. Subscribers are provided with all the information necessary to become part of the kitchen garden movement that is forging a healthy, happy future for Australian children.
