Tuesday, April 19, 2016

What type of food is light enough to carry all day? What food doesn’t need refrigeration? What food keeps for weeks and weeks? What food is fit for an ANZAC?

It’s easy to get distracted by oats and golden syrup when commemorating ANZAC Day but there is more to learn when thinking about the food that fuelled the ANZACs. We invite you to engage the imagination of your children and students this ANZAC Day and take them on a journey back in time using our ANZAC Rations resource as your guide.

Discover how dry goods and other preserved foods provide vital energy for military personnel and finish your journey with a special meal using some of these ingredients, such as our recipe for Berbere Lentils, a traditional, delicious Ethiopian dish made using Berbere Spice Mix.
