Healthy Kids Advisors initiative
Local solutions for healthier Victorian communities
From July 2021 to June 2024, the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation proudly delivered the Healthy Kids Advisors initiative on behalf of the Victorian Government.
A dedicated team of 13 Healthy Kids Advisors were located in 13 priority Victorian communities facing barriers to fresh, healthy food.
Promoting delicious, fresh food to children and young people is, and always has been, at the heart of everything the Foundation does. The Healthy Kids Advisors leveraged the Foundation’s knowledge of grassroots community engagement to support communities in designing and implementing self-directed solutions grounded in our fun, hands-on approach to food education.
Each of our Healthy Kids Advisors developed a personalised response for each community through meaningful engagement with a wide variety of stakeholders, community leaders, schools and settings.
