Windermere Primary School was established in 2011 and incorporates a number of students and staff from the former Abbotsfield, Claremont, Mt Faulkner and Roseneath Primary Schools. Windermere Primary School moved onto its new site on the banks of the Derwent River on 2 May 2011. The school incorporates the latest in learning technologies and is built around early childhood, middle and upper primary pods that are designed to support a team approach to learning and student management.
