Ainslie School is Canberra’s oldest continuous primary school (Preschool to year 6) having been founded in 1927. Currently about 460 students access school programs across one of three sites: the primary school campus between Donaldson and Elder Streets in Braddon, the Baker Gardens Preschool and the Reid Preschool. Ainslie School occupies spacious grounds in the inner north of Canberra with two ovals and over 120 heritage protected, non-native trees. The 1938 main building and library are in an Art Deco style and, in 2011, a multipurpose building with a performing arts space, two classrooms and a kitchen was added. Ainslie students and teachers are part of a stimulating learning community where initiative, cooperation and participation are valued and encouraged. Core values are respect, community and excellence. Ainslie students bring intercultural understanding, critical and creative thinking, ethical behaviour and personal and social competence to everything they do
