Baringa has a strong commitment to excellence in Special Education. As the only special school in the Gippsland Region catering specifically for students aged 5-18 who have been diagnosed with a mild intellectual disability, the student population is drawn from a wide geographical area. The school provides an innovative, caring and stimulating environment where learning is relevant and purposeful and where students develop a sense of belonging through mutual respect and cooperation. Comprehensive learning programs are provided within three sections of the school - Primary, Secondary, and VCAL.
