Located approximately ten kilometres from the Perth CBD Queens Park Primary School was established in 1905 in a nearby community hall. It was relocated to its present site in 1906 and named Queens Park Primary in the 1920's. Queens Park Primary School is a small friendly school with a student population of approximately 170 students ranging from Kindergarten to Year 7 and includes a diverse range of backgrounds made up of 16 nationalities speaking 20 first languages in addition to several newly arrived non English speaking refugees. The school has an Education Support Unit as well as a K-3 unit which supports Aboriginal students at educational risk. The school motto 'Strength through Knowledge' is the focus for providing a curriculum that assists students to make positive contributions to society in the future. The curriculum focuses on developing self esteem decision making skills and students taking responsibility for their choices in life and their learning.
