Located in the picturesque Pilbara town of Tom Price and near the Karijini National Park, Tom Price Senior High School provides an extensive Year 7 to Year 12 secondary school education program for students who live in the towns of Tom Price and Paraburdoo and in the Aboriginal Communities of Wakathuni and Bellary. Since 2012 our school has been an Independent Public School.

Tom Price SHS prides itself in promoting to students a pursuit of excellence and opportunity through its provision of a range of education programs including academic, Vocational Education and Training (VET), social and sport. The school is recognised for its involvement in and support for community events. Our academic program is supported by the school's strong partnership with the University of Western Australia which has successfully supported and enabled our Year 12 Tertiary bound students to be accepted into university. Our VET program, in partnership with local businesses and industry (including Rio Tinto), enables students to participate in meaningful and authentic learning experiences that have provided students with the opportunity to achieve Certificate II level nationally accredited vocational qualifications. The school's VET program was boosted in late 2011 with the opening of a modern trade training centre. In partnership with the Polly Farmer Foundation, the school hosts a Follow the Dream program to support Aboriginal students achieve success at school including Year 12 graduation.

Our academic and vocational learning environments are supported by a student services team that includes a school chaplain, psychologist, nurse and year coordinators. The team provides a pastoral care program with a focus on the needs of each student, enabling students to experience success in a safe learning environment. Evidence for the success of the school's strong focus on its school values (personal best, integrity, respect and resilience) is highlighted by the very positive community feedback on student presentation and behaviour when our students have attended school excursions within WA, interstate and overseas. The school's award winning Emergency Services Cadet Unit is a partnership between the school and the local emergency service organisations. This partnership enables our students to further develop the knowledge and skills to become responsible citizens and to make valuable contributions to the community at large.
