We offer a range of grants to help schools and early childhood services bring hands‑on food education to life — whether you’re just starting out or looking to grow an established Kitchen Garden Program.

The National Kitchen Garden Awards recognise the tremendous creativity of kitchen gardens in schools and early childhood services of all sizes.

The awards are open to all services and schools nationwide, including current Kitchen Garden Program members.

Winners receive an exciting prize pack featuring an infrastructure grant, kitchen garden products, a custom-designed trophy, and a two-year Kitchen Garden Program membership (or an extension for current members).

Applications for 2026 are closed.

Kitchen Garden Kickstart Grants, generously funded by General Mills, support schools wanting to bring food education to life but lacking the resources to get started. Each year, 12 schools receive a $5,000 infrastructure grant and a two‑year Kitchen Garden Program membership. To date, the grants have supported 72 schools, helping them establish kitchen and garden spaces, build staff capacity, and create opportunities for shared meals and learning.

In the past year alone, students and school communities across Australia enjoyed 65,520 fresh and delicious meals thanks to Kickstart Grants!

Applications for 2026 are closed.

We offer additional Kitchen Garden Program and infrastructure grants throughout the year.
