These full-day and highly anticipated advanced workshops enable Kitchen and Garden Specialists to build on their skills and develop new ones through specialised workshops and networking. The workshops vary every time, and this year you will find sessions ranging from building with bamboo to gluten-free cooking, from Indian curries through to keeping poultry.

Details

Specialist Professional Development is the ultimate kitchen and garden learning experience: an entire day filled with fun hands-on workshops, discussions and skill sessions. The training is designed to enhance Kitchen and Garden Specialists' knowledge and skills, to help you plan, prepare and deliver successful, engaging and enjoyable kitchen and garden classes in your schools.

This year sees a new and enhanced format. The day begins with a group workshop session from 9am-10am. Kitchen Specialists will then have a choice of two 2-hour kitchen workshops, while Garden Specialists can choose from four 1-hour garden workshops. The afternoon also hosts some group sessions for newer Kitchen Garden Schools who might prefer a chance to network and talk about running the Program in their school. Finally, the entire team will reassemble for wine and cheese at the end of the day.

We welcome special guests Tanya Hubbard, Barry Batchelor, Daniel Crossman, Leanne Harper, John Daly, Kym Burrell-Jones, Jamie Parkin, Ingrid Dimock and Josh Gerrard to the day, all of who have delevoped insightful, skilled and fun workshops for participants to get involved in.

Additional Details

Please choose workshops according to your own skills preferences and your role at your school - it is highly recommended that Garden Specialists attend garden workshops and Kitchen Specialists attend kitchen workshops.

NOTE! You must choose 1 workshop from each Session. If you choose a 2 hour kitchen workshop you must tick Kitchen Sessions continued in the next workshop. You cannot do a garden workshop and a kitchen workshop at the same time, so either choose to do 2 garden workshops or 1 kitchen workshop before lunch, and 2 garden workshops or 1 kitchen workshop after lunch.

Please come dressed appropriately for hands-on sessions - all attendees are asked to wear covered shoes for safety, and if choosing garden workshops please note that unless the weather is inclement we will be outdoors and you should dress appropriately for the weather.
