Learn the principles of the closed ’wicking‘ system for garden beds, so you can apply them to your own school garden. Wicking systems reduce the need to water as often, making dry tiimes and holiday breaks much easier to manage, and of course keeping water costs down.  Participants will have the opportunity to make a small-scale wicking box to take back to school, ready for planting out.
