For attendees who have not attended a Curriculum Integration workshop with us before, this introductory workshop showcases how the Kitchen Garden Program can be effectively integrated to support your school's curriculum learning objectives, helping achieve broader strategic goals and, above all, fostering student learning.

Details

Aimed at teaching staff, Introductory Curriculum Integration Training covers designing effective curriculum activities across the classroom, kitchen and garden for maximum student learning. We will explore the effective and inspiring ways the kitchen and the garden can be used to support curriculum learning, through practical connections, seasonality and authentic projects that make full use of the hands-on learning potential in the kitchen and garden.

Concrete examples and discussions link to specific learning outcomes in the Australian Curriculum. Resources from the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation will be introduced, including Tools for Teachers resource books and our online resource bank. Opportunities for discussion and networking will be supported by case studies showing how schools are using the Kitchen Garden Program for powerful student learning and engagement.

Please bring a notebook and pen.

When new training of this type is scheduled it will be listed above, including times, locations and specific details.
