This workshop will explore keeping chickens in schools, and will cover the basics of setting up a coop, chicken care, coop maintenance, working with classes and a Q&A session. DET guidelines around chickens in schools will be explored where possible. If you keep chickens at your school, or want to, please bring along your questions and ideas.
Details
Josie Charles has four years experience as a Garden Specialist in the Kitchen Garden Program in Melbourne, followed by a further two years on staff with the Foundation. Her passion for school gardens across the country is unbounded, and undaunted! Josie has a broad knowledge of the Program from establishing infrastructure to delivering classes, as well as garden necessities like productive planting and planning.
