Learn about knife skills and safety in the Kitchen classroom, including:

  • Basic kitchen rules and safety tips
  • Teaching tips such as reinforcement, starting with the basics and knife storage
  • Working with and alongside volunteers
  • Knife skills such as the parts of the knife, types of knives and the basic knife holds
  • Chopping techniques and how to teach them, via an in-course video confrence with Kitchen Specialist Gaby Banay – June webinar date to be announced shortly.

Additional Details

This is a self-paced online course using the CANVAS (Instructure) platform. The course materials are accessible for a limited time, with an estimated contact time of less than 30 minutes.

This course includes in-course video confrencing sessions using the Canvas Confrencing function. Details of this event will be provided inside the course.
