This is a mandatory introductory workshop for new Kitchen and Garden Specialists, but we also welcome previously trained Specialists who may want to expand their skills, share their knowledge and benefit from the networking the day provides.  Participants will experience kitchen and garden sessions and activities, with additional workshops for planning and skills development.

Details

This hands-on training session equips Kitchen Specialists and Garden Specialists with essential skills and knowledge to help them plan, prepare and deliver kitchen and garden classes in their schools. We'll explore the structure and core elements of classes and discuss potential issues and challenges, while actively participating in kitchen and garden sessions.

Other elements covered on the day may include:
 – planning and budgeting techniques
 – recruiting and attracting volunteers
 – tips and inspiration for kitchen and garden activities
 – common issues and challenges and how to overcome them.

Please wear comfortable clothing for kitchen and garden workshops and closed shoes. Bring a hat/wet weather gear/sunscreen as appropriate, a camera, notebook and pen.
