This year's session looks beyond curriculum implementation to focus on planning techniques, as well as the many opportunities available to teaching staff to link the new Australian Curriculum to learning objectives in the kitchen, the garden and the classroom. It will focus on techniques and examples of whole-school planning to assist you with your own curriculum planning for 2012 at this timely point in the year.

Details

Aimed at Program Coordinators and teaching staff, this Curriculum Planning Professional Development workshop demonstrates how to use the Kitchen Garden Program as a resource for achieving student learning outcomes in classroom, garden and kitchen settings. We are excited to include guest sessions hosted by Terri-Anne Philpott and Rosemary Bennett of Monash University, which will drill into the detail of cross-curriculum planning, as well as a garden class presentation from Julie Jensz of Whitehorse Primary School, which will inspire the afternoon workshop. The day also includes an introduction to and exploration of the latest of the Kitchen Garden Foundation's Tools for Teachers 2 classroom resources.

Please bring a notebook and pen.
