This workshop is for those who have previously attended a Curriculum Integration workshop. The garden and kitchen are authentic sites for inquiry-based learning across all streams of the new Australian curriculum. This in-depth session will see the group move from idea generation through to workshopping and developing completed units that can be used in the classroom to integrate learnings from the Kitchen Garden Program with the school curriculum.
Details
Designed particularly for teaching staff, this in-depth workshop develops the outcomes from previous workshops that introduced the Kitchen Garden Program as a resource for achieving student learning outcomes. The day will begin with idea generation and finish with completed units of work.
Concrete examples and discussions link to specific learning outcomes in the Australian Curriculum. We will introduce resources from the Kitchen Garden Foundation that are feely available to you, including Tools for Teachers resource books and our online resource bank. Opportunities for discussion and networking will be supported by ideas showing how schools are using the Kitchen Garden Program for powerful student learning and engagement
Please bring a notebook and pen.
