Details
The workshop will kick off with hands-on sessions in the garden and kitchen. Experienced Garden Specialist Seila Hirk will lead us through the extensive gardens at Aspendale Gardens Primary School with Seila Hirk, including student demonstrations and a look at intensive planting systems, composting and propagation. In the kitchen, we'll enjoy a Mexican feast based on Anna Gare's menu from our recent Western Australian workshop, with time for discussions on the best shortcuts and top tips in the kitchen.
In the afternoon, we'll share experiences and learn about effective teaching ideas in the kitchen and garden as well as discuss ongoing concerns around fundraising and budgeting. There will also be a chance to get further acquainted with the Shared Table.
To finish the day, you'll enjoy another hands-on activity with a discussion on deepening and developing the learning opportunities within the Program, and its links to your school curriculum.
While Members are welcome to attend this workshop, if you have just joined the Kitchen Garden Classroom we recommend you attend the Delivering Kitchen Garden Classes workshop in Melbourne on 31 July.
