
A full-day of advanced workshops enables Kitchen and Garden Specialists to build on their skills and develop new ones through experiential training, specialised workshops and networking. This is an exciting day, with some fabulous facilitators presenting their own areas of skill, including Teresa Oates of Mangia!Mangia!, Hannah Maloney from Cultivating Community, cheesemaker Isobel Piper, Justin Calverley from CERES and 3RRR, and Eva and Maria from Guwerzhaus, among others!

The ultimate kitchen garden learning experience: an entire day filled with hands-on workshops, discussions and skill sessions. The training is designed to enhance Kitchen and Garden Specialists' knowledge and skills, to help them plan, prepare and deliver successful, engaging and enjoyable kitchen and garden classes in their schools.
Participants will enjoy sessions based on Kitchen Garden Program activities.
In the kitchen we'll have Seasonal Italian Gnocchi; Spanish and Portuguese Cooking; Using Spices; Cheese Making and Pastry. We are also pleased to announce that our new Program Partner KitchenAid will be donating a beautiful Stand Mixer to every school currently in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program nationally. They will join us to demonstrate the many uses of the Stand Mixer, and to present a Stand Mixer to every Kitchen Garden School that attends on the day.
Garden Specialists will enjoy sessions including Summer Fruit Tree Pruning, Chook Tractors, Seed Saving, Growing Asian Vegetables, Sustainable Materials, Composting and Worm Farms. Bush Tucker, Worm Wicking and Banana Circles.
The day's schedule is as follows:
- 9:00-10:00 – Session One: either KitchenAid or Flemings workshops
- 10.00-10.30: Morning tea
- 10:30-11.30 – Session Two: Garden Workshop 1 along with all Kitchen Workshops
- 11:30-12:30 – Session Three: Garden Workshop 2; Kitchen Workshops continue
- 12.30-13.30: Lunch
- 13:30-14:30 – Session Four: Group workshops
- 14:30-15:30 – Session Five: Group discussion and wrapup for the day, with cheese and wine donated by Will Studd and TarraWarra Winery
