Rose Creek Estate’s Lena and Tony will lead us on a journey through what has been described as ‘Tuscany in East Keilor’. As well as touring Lena and Tony’s bountiful property, we will:

•     Discuss how to use garden materials, including clever reuse of materials.
•     Enjoy olive oil, wine and olive tastings, while finding out more about how they’re made.
•     Visit Lena’s famous Chedro lemon (citron) tree.
•     Learn more about Lena’s collection of saved seeds, brought here all the way from Varapodio more than 30 years ago.

The pizza oven will be stoked and ready to go for a Mediterranean-inspired shared lunch.

There will be plenty time to exchange tips and advice on kitchen and garden learning experiences, and catch up with the Kitchen Garden Foundation’s expert training team.

This unique event has been specially designed for you to draw inspiration, ideas and expertise while networking with colleagues, all in a gorgeous al fresco setting.

What to bring:

•      Seeds, seedlings, inspirational activities you have tried, recipes, preserves, photos or stories that can be shared with the group.
•      Sturdy shoes are essential as the grounds are uneven in some places. We will be outside for most of the day, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
•      A picnic blanket, cushion or folding chair to sit on for lunch.

Additional Details

There will be an opportunity to purchase award-winning homemade olives, olive oil and wine from Rose Creek Estate.  

If you are new to your kitchen garden program or have just become a Kitchen Garden Classroom member, consider attending the introductory Delivering Kitchen Garden Classes workshop in your region.
