Details

Sally has been in the 'food game' for over 25 years, and in that time she has cooked for the rich and famous as well as people down on their luck. One thing she has discovered is that our love for good tasty food transcends social and economic barriers – everyone loves it, eats it, talks about it and has fond memories relating to it!

Originally from Melbourne, Sally has run and owned restaurants (The Argo, The Alexander) and cafes (The Spotted Dog, The Larder), been a wholesale food manufacturer (The Loaded Larder) and even had a home delivery meal service (Ridgey Didge). Each business has explored the different ways of providing food to the hungry hordes.

Taste Trekkers is Sally’s latest business, which is based in inner Brisbane and is a food experience hub. It comprises a small cooking school specialising in hands-on and online cooking classes based from her home, and a range of foodie treks and bite-size books.

Sally has also helped build reputable cooking schools in regional Queensland areas and travels regularly to teach. She even established a survival cooking class curriculum at The Salvation Army in Red Hill for their rehabilitation program for drug, alcohol and gambling addiction, with great success.

Sally has written reviews for The Brisbane Good Food and Wine Guide and the foreword for Brisbane Budget Bites in 2010, and assisted in putting together and writing the first Foodies Guide to Brisbane. She also has another website:

Food Ingredients and  Kitchen Gadgetry.

Sally has generously donated her time to present this workshop. We're thrilled to have Sally facilitate this workshop and look forward to some fabulous tropical dishes.
