A place to share, learn and grow together.

The Shared Table brings together educators and practitioners nurturing kitchen gardens, joyful learning and healthy food cultures across Australia – to share stories, solve problems, celebrate wins and connect with others doing meaningful work in demanding environments.

Being part of this community means contributing to a culture of trust, respect and generosity.

Why these guidelines matter

Great communities – like healthy gardens – take careful tending. The way we speak to one another, the stories we share and the respect we show shape the culture here.

What it means to be part of this community

You’re representing something bigger: Remember that your account is linked to your school or early childhood service, and your peers will see you as part of that community. Bring your whole self and make your organisation proud.

Share your stories: Your experiences – challenges, clever hacks, moments that made you smile – are what make this space come alive. Others will benefit, and the whole community grows stronger.

Hold the knowledge here to a high standard: The information we share shapes practice in real classrooms and early childhood settings. Be clear about what’s personal experience versus established fact, label AI-assisted resources so others can make informed choices, and never be afraid to say “I don’t know”.

Be supportive and kind: We’re all juggling heavy workloads and long days. Bring empathy, ask questions with curiosity, and respond in ways that make people feel seen and valued.

Keep us connected to purpose: A little off-topic conversation is welcome — but this isn’t the place for politics or debate unconnected to our work. Keep the direction of travel rooted in our shared purpose.

Make room for everyone: Welcome new members warmly. This community brings together people of different cultures, faiths, identities and perspectives. Engage with curiosity and respect so everyone knows they belong. Hate has no place here.

Keep it safe and respectful: Engage in ways that reflect the professionalism and care at the heart of this community. If something isn’t quite right, we’ll work through it together – and where needed, in line with our policies.

Protect privacy and wellbeing: Respect others’ privacy and don’t share community content outside the group without permission. Keep stories and photos suitable for an adult professional audience.

No direct access for children: This space is for adults only. If you become aware a child is accessing the community through an adult account, please let us know immediately at support@kitchengardenfoundation.org.au

Look after the space and each other: If something doesn’t feel right, use the report tools to let your moderation team know. Safety and trust are our shared responsibility.

How this space is cared for

The Shared Table is actively moderated by the SAKGF team with care and consistency – supporting constructive participation while protecting member wellbeing and community integrity. Where behaviour undermines the safety, trust or purpose of the space, content may be removed or access limited.

Use the reporting tools if something feels concerning. Pathways for raising concerns and appealing moderation decisions are outlined in our FAQs at:
