Kojonup District High School is 260km south of Perth with just under 300 students. It includes a 182ha farm and canteen. Most students live on family operated farms up to 50km from school accessing one of 11 contract school buses. Students are polite cooperative and well behaved and the staff keen and enthusiastic young and highly experienced. There are strong support networks including access to a chaplain. Many staff permanently reside locally. The priorities include literacy numeracy and engaging constructively in a community. The primary section (K-7) provides a comprehensive range of programs accessing specialised high school facilities while the secondary students (8-12) have small classes and excellent teacher/student relationships. Year 10 students can progress to flexibly delivered school-based school and TAFE or school and work programs.
