Boeing continues to support Pleasurable Food Education

The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation is pleased to announce that Boeing Australia has extended its support for food education.

Boeing has generously provided funding that will contribute to our Schools Support Centre Development Project. This will ensure we can continue servicing and enhancing our vital Support Centre, which gives guidance and help to the 835 Kitchen Garden Program schools across Australia, plus the growing number of learning centres and schools joining the Kitchen Garden Classroom (ensuring we’re just a phone call or email away).

Boeing Australia has been a keen partner of the Foundation since 2011, supporting our work under the umbrella of the Boeing Global Corporate Citizenship program. This partnership has allowed us to produce key professional learning resources, including the popular Tools for Teachers series, in addition to staff volunteerism at schools across Australia – with many a garden bed built, planted and painted in this time!

Regarding its continued support, President of Boeing Australia & South Pacific Maureen Dougherty was full of praise for the work of the Foundation.

“Boeing is very proud of its association with such a great organisation, one that touches and improves the lives and futures of so many children, teachers, and parents. Plus it’s great fun!” said Ms Dougherty.

This latest support will ensure that all Kitchen Garden Program schools and Kitchen Garden Classroom members, regardless of their geographic location or socio-economic status, will have equity of access to expertise and advice from the Foundation team to help develop and enhance their kitchen garden activities.

Kitchen Garden Foundation CEO Ange Barry welcomed the news of Boeing Australia’s continued funding.

“We are both proud and grateful to receive Boeing’s continued support to see food education spread throughout Australia. It means so much to us to see Boeing believe and invest in our work, and change the food habits of a generation, together,” said Ms Barry.

We warmly thank Boeing Australia for their continued support, which helps us to positively influence the food habits of Australian children.

If you would like to support our work please feel free to donate!
