Rose Creek Estate Open Day a great success!

Monday, September 7, 2015

More than 650 people flocked to Rose Creek Estate’s annual Open Day, enjoying a slice of Tuscany in suburban Melbourne while helping to support pleasurable food education.

Lina and Tony Siciliano opened the gates of their East Keilor estate, a suburban oasis with 3000 grapevines and 500 olive trees, on 30 August and generously donated the gate takings to the Kitchen Garden Foundation.

Kitchen Garden Foundation CEO Ange Barry thanked Lina and Tony for their generosity and said the funds would be put to good use helping to spread pleasurable food education around Australia.

Ange also thanked the hard-working Kitchen Garden Foundation team, who were kept busy cooking up delicious pizzas in the estate’s wood-fired oven, plus giant pans of paella to keep the hungry crowds happy!

As well as enjoying a slice of pizza or serve of paella, visitors to the Open Day were able to enjoy some of Rose Creek Estate’s award-winning olive oil and wine, wander the garden or take part in a guided tour.

Live music from a lively three-piece added a lovely ambience and had people getting active on the patio dancefloor.

Children on the day were also able to add to Lina and Tony’s extensive vegetable gardens by planting some broccoli, lettuce and onion seedlings in a new garden bed.

Thanks so much Lina and Tony, and to the team at Rose Creek Estate – your support means the world to us and all the communities benefitting form pleasurable food education.

Thanks also to Rustica Sourdough Bakery for their help with the pizza dough. It created a beautiful crust that received high praise from many happy customers, including Stephanie herself!
