Yates Junior Landcare and other grant opportunities

Are you looking for funding to develop a kitchen garden program at your school or early years learning centre? Or would you like to see your school’s sustainable practices recognised? Then check out these grant and award opportunities.

Yates Junior Landcare Grants for Gardens program

Schools can build their dream garden or outdoor classroom with the help of the Yates Junior Landcare Grants for Gardens program.

There are 15 grants each valued at $2000, which are available for schools, youth groups and childcare centres. The grants include $1500 in funding, $500 of Yates garden products and a consultation with a Yates gardening expert.

Interested groups are invited to submit a design for their dream garden within their school grounds or communities. Veggie gardens, butterfly gardens, bush tucker and sensory gardens are just some of the projects that have been previously funded.

Applications close on 29 June 2017.

2017-18 School NRM Action Grants

Schools and preschools within the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges region can apply for grants of up to $2000. The grants are available for projects that build school and community capacity, leading to sustainable futures in one or more of the following areas:

  • Youth Voice - students leading sustainability projects and initiatives
  • Outdoor learning environment - connecting with nature through biodiversity projects and outdoor learning.

Applications close at midnight on 28 July 2017.

ResourceSmart Schools Awards 2017

To celebrate 10 years of the ResourceSmart Schools program, Sustainability Victoria is looking for the Sustainable School of the Decade.

It's the newest category in ResourceSmart’s annual search for Victorian schools who are leading the way to reduce the impact of climate change through actions like reducing waste, water consumption and energy use, or installing solar panels. The awards are open to primary and secondary schools.

Entries close on 31 July 2017.
