The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation is an Australian not-for-profit founded in 2004 by legendary cook Stephanie Alexander AO. Twenty years on, we are still fighting for the health and wellbeing of Australian children and young people by delivering fun, hands-on and inclusive food education across the country.
Our globally recognised and evidence-backed Kitchen Garden Program equips children with the skills to grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh, affordable and culturally diverse food, enabling them to develop positive food, wellbeing and sustainability skills for life.
About the role
- Option for remote working arrangements available
- 0.6 FTE Part time (flexible work arrangements available)
- Fixed term contract to 31 December 2027
- $44.58 per hour + 12% super + 17.5% annual leave loading + an additional day for health/wellbeing leave
The Fundraising & Philanthropy Lead will be responsible for coordinating targeted fundraising campaigns and cultivating, securing and stewarding significant philanthropic gifts and grants from major donors, sponsors, and private ancillary funds to support the Foundation’s expanding impact. This hands-on, donor-facing role will be responsible for all elements of our annual fundraising campaigns, strategic major gifts program, and relationship management.
We are seeking a seasoned philanthropy or fundraising professional who combines strategic thinking with exceptional relationship skills. You must have experience engaging major donors and values-aligned individuals and be equally comfortable crafting powerful proposals as you are holding a meaningful conversation over a garden lunch.
The Fundraising & Philanthropy Lead can be based interstate, for the right candidate.
About you
You are a seasoned philanthropy or fundraising professional who combines strategic thinking with exceptional relationship skills. You bring:
- A positive, can-do, collaborative and adaptive attitude.
- Experience cultivating high-value partnerships with donors, trusts, and foundations.
- Outstanding communication and donor engagement skills.
- Exceptional understanding of CRM and donor management platforms, such as Raisely.
- A passion and commitment to the Foundation’s vision and values are demonstrated.
