Project Lead

Play an integral role in establishing and delivering our flagship Kitchen Garden Program onsite on the traditional lands of the Gundungurra and Dharawal people in the Southern Highlands of NSW.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation (SAKGF) enables preventative, positive change in the food, health, wellbeing and sustainability habits of children and young people, families and communities right across Australia.

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Project Lead to run our flagship Kitchen Garden Program onsite on the lands of the Gundungurra and Dharawal people in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Reporting to the Community Projects Manager, your role is to lead all elements of program development, program coordination, program facilitation, community engagement and overall project management and delivery of this exciting project.

This dynamic role involves working with primary school aged children and the broader community and is fun, hands-on and fast-paced. 

You will join a passionate, supportive and collaborative group of people dedicated to supporting schools, early childhood services and communities to experience fun, hands-on and delicious food education for all young Australians.

ABOUT YOU

We are a not-for-profit that exists in a changeable environment and is open to opportunity and change. You will need to be willing to handle a rapidly adapting workplace, with a responsive and flexible attitude. We are looking for someone with:

  • Kitchen garden program experience or strong knowledge of strengths-based food education
  • Facilitation skills and the ability to deliver fun and engaging hands-on cooking sessions with primary school aged children
  • Self-motivation and ability to drive a project
  • A love of fresh, seasonal, delicious food!

The position may from time to time require intra-state and interstate travel. A driver’s license is required. The applicant must be able to legally work in Australia and hold a valid Working With Children Check.
