This course has been designed for kitchen garden educators who want to teach pasta-making techniques and how to make seasonal sauces.

Pasta-making includes self-directed learning which can be done at your pace. The five modules of this course include both text and video-based instruction and a quiz which deliver the course outcomes. The course also gives you downloadable resources such as templates and recipes.


Course objectives

  • Understand the different types of dough and ingredients used to make pasta.Learn how to roll pasta using a pasta-making machine and by hand.
  • Understand the basic types of pasta, and pasta shapes.
  • Understand how to make pasta sauces using ingredients in season.
  • Develop classroom management strategies on how to timetable kitchen sessions, rotate pasta-making tasks and maintain kitchen safety.
  • Gain ideas on how to link pasta-making to other learning areas.
  • Test your knowledge and ask questions about pasta-making, and share tips, recipes and ideas.
