Grab yourself a cuppa and come along to our free virtual tour of Southern Support School, located in Howrah, Tasmania, alongside the timtuilli minanya/the River Derwent. A dedicated, special education setting for students from Kingergarten to Year 12, offering weekly kitchen and garden experiences to provide therapeutic, sensory, hands-on learning while fostering life skills.
During this virtual tour, you'll visit Southern Support School, a K–12 school supporting young people with multiple disabilities through highly individualised learning that promotes wellbeing, independence, confidence, and meaningful community participation. Through the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program, students engage in hands-on garden and kitchen learning experiences that are responsive to each student's needs and abilities, to build practical life skills, social connection, resilience and understanding of nutrition and environmental care. These experiences help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally while celebrating their achievements through shared learning and meals. Can't make this time? Register anyway and you'll receive the recording to watch at a time that suits.
