At the heart of our Kitchen Garden Program and Community Initiatives, we focus on one core element: pleasurable food education. It’s the crux of what we do. But what does it mean? And what does it look like in practice?

Our approach to food education empowers children and young people to develop an understanding of seasonal produce, practical life skills, and a positive, confident, and healthy relationship with food – for life.

Fresh produce used at its peak, helps children and young people understand the value of wholefood and its journey from garden to plate. Lessons in sustainability, wellbeing, culture, and community are brought to life when children and young people see how food is connected to nature.

Play-based activities grow positive associations with fresh produce and trying something new. Children and young people are more receptive to new ideas, experimentation, and learning when they’re engaged and having fun with their peers.

A hands-on approach to food education builds confidence, self‑worth, and social skills, so young people feel trusted, valued, and heard.

Delicious simplicity is what we are all about. We focus on the joy of flavours, textures and shared memories to reinforce the benefits of nourishing food.
