ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation (SAKGF) provides the inspiration, information, professional development and support for educational institutions to deliver pleasurable food education, in conjunction with educators, partners and the wider community.

We are seeking a motivated and people-orientated Community Engagement Coordinator to provide high-quality support to our existing community of educators and community stakeholders wanting to support their communities through the Kitchen Garden Program. Reporting to the Support and Projects manager your role is to:

  • support and grow the SAKGF community through contact with educators and local council, and other community organisations

  • handle communications via email and phone

  • maintain data integrity for our membership base

  • support the delivery of our online and in person information and professional development sessions.

You will join a friendly, supportive and collaborative group of people dedicated to supporting schools and early childhood services to deliver pleasurable food education to young Australians.

ABOUT YOU

We are a small not-for-profit that exists in a changeable environment and is open to opportunity and change. You will need to be willing to handle a rapidly adapting workplace, with a responsive and flexible attitude. We are looking for someone with:

  • knowledge and understanding of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program

  • excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • a passion for fresh, seasonal, delicious food and commitment to the aims of pleasurable food education.

  • the ability to confidently navigate CRM software

  • an eye for detail producing accurate work with a commitment to excellence

Desirable extra knowledge to help support your role:

  • not-for-profit experience

  • experience with Salesforce.

The position requires intra-state and interstate travel.. The applicant must be able to legally work in Australia, hold a current Driver Licence, valid Working With Children Check, and be up to date with their COVID vaccinations unless a medical exemption can be provided.
