This workshop is for anyone who wants to extend their knowledge around integrating the Kitchen Garden Program into their school curriculum.
The garden and kitchen are authentic sites for inquiry-based and hands-on learning. Best of all, gardens and kitchens are flexible spaces that facilitate learning across all streams of the new Australian Curriculum in all states and territories. This in-depth session will move the group from idea generation through to workshopping classroom plans and activities, and looks at creating units of work that meet the needs of the school, the students, and the requirements of curriculum in each state.
Details
Beginning with idea generation, continuing with some vibrant group workshopping and perhaps even finishing the day with completed units of work, attendees will learn from Kitchen Garden Program school leaders who will guide and mentor the groups while sharing their own stories and skills.
Even if you have attended previous introductory Curriculum Integration workshops, this training will still be relevant to your school, as the Program is always learning and expanding. Please feel free to attend again to be reinspired and reconnect, or send along new staff from your school so they can understand first-hand how the Kitchen Garden Program can help them reinforce their teaching. We will structure the session so that returning attendees get a chance to work together on the day.
