Kitchen Garden Program Introductory Training is designed specifically for new Kitchen and Garden Teachers or Specialists joining established Kitchen Garden Schools, or moving into these roles. It is also useful for any school staff involved in the Program, such as Principals, Assistant Principals and classroom teachers, who would benefit from a deeper understanding of how the Program operates and how to make the most of it for their school community.

The training covers all elements of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program philosophy and delivery. It centres on the hands-on aspect of the delivery of kitchen and garden classes, but also includes sessions on integrating the Program, planning menus and creating garden activities, as well as planning classes and incorporating volunteers. 

 

Each training day is led by an experienced facilitator who will provide opportunities for you to ask questions and discuss your school’s individual circumstances. The day will also feature a delicious shared lunch based on Kitchen Garden Program recipes.
