
Getting Started for Early Childhood is an introductory workshop that is suitable for anyone new to pleasurable food education in Early Childhood, or who have new or additional staff to train in their kitchen garden program.
This workshop is designed to give participants an insight into the pleasurable food education philosophy, key tips on establishing a garden and kitchen in your service, an overview of kitchen and garden experiences, inspiration for linking to learning and how to engage your local community.
Details
During the workshop, you will:
- understand what pleasurable food education is
- consider how to establish (or develop) a garden and kitchen in your unique context
- develop a sense of what a kitchen garden experiences look like
- explore opportunities for linking to learning
- understand how to connect to your community
- see what types of learning opportunities, resources and support are available
- hear from a current early childhood facilitator about their program
- have the opportunity to contact the foundation with related questions
Additional Details
The online workshop will take be available from August. A link will be sent to all registered participants to access the video. You can watch the workshops using a phone, computer or tablet.
