Joe Wilde brings years of experience in growing and harvesting native plants for food, fibre and medicines to this enligtening workshop. With extensive knowledge on plants suited to growing in various environments and the traditional uses of these plants, Joe will help you understand how native plants can support Indigenous studies at school, how to choose plants suited to your location and plan where you can incorporate native plants in your school grounds.

Details

Joe works at the Greening Australia Native Plant Nursery at The Gap and is passionate about the far-ranging uses of native plants. The Greening Australia not-for-profit community nursery is managed by Greening Australia and staffed by volunteers. The aim of the nursery is to educate, provide support and information as well as grow native plants for South East Queensland and to return the state's native flora and fauna to its appropriate place in the landscape.

Joe will extend his vast knowledge of the vegetation of South East Queensland to some very lucky gardeners in this workshop. Feel free to bring your samples and your questions!
